"Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional" for decisions

Haruki Murakami once wrote in his book, “Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional.” Recently, I was thinking about some career changes that occurred in our department, and this phrase came to mind. I was surprised by how clearly it applied to almost any decision in life.

A few months ago, my team lead was replaced. He's from a completely different engineering culture, so it feels like my options are to either adapt to the new environment and abandon our team's principles, or just change teams. :)

Stay tuned; an interesting story is coming soon.
