Almost pointless activity

I've spent three weeks designing and implementing a migration tool. Stakeholders wanted to migrate some partners to a new tariff because the old one was planned to be closed. They didn't know how many partners would accept the new offer and continue to work on the platform. A few days before the migration, I asked about the count of such partners. The stakeholders said there were only 14 partners.... Guys, I would have faster curled 5 external handlers for every contract, 70 in total, than spent a few sprints on pointless work.
